Virgin Maria of Miracles is one of the most famous Marian invocations. Many catholic churches and chapels are dedicated to Her. The painting represents the Immaculate Virgin standing on the head of the snake (as the book of Revelation says), and on the top of the world globe that suffers the damage caused by sin. The blue and white colors are a symbol of purity and majesty of Maria. And the the rays of light that come from Her hands are a symbol of her powerful holiness. The white, delicate, odorous Lilys are frequently associated to the Immaculate invocation, again as a symbol of purity, beauty and modesty.
I am a painter and designer from Madrid, Spain. Actually living in Madrid. I got my Fine Art degree in this city in 1999 and have worked as an artist, designer and teacher since then. I have also lived in Edinburgh, Scotland (2000-2001), where I studied modern and traditional techniques of printmaking in Edinburgh Printmakers Workshop. I have organized numerous personal exhibitions of my work in Spain, and have taken part in some collective ones in Spain and Edinburgh.
