This Virgin was a command from a devote pilgrim of Medjugore, who had the project of illustrating a book of prayers.
The image represents the Virgin with Jesus in her arms. She is holding a rose as a symbol of love and beauty. Little Jesus stares at the viewer, while holding the sanctuary of Medjugore as presenting it to us. At the background we can see a typical Medjugore sunset, that is so inspiring for devoted pilgrims.
I am a painter and designer from Madrid, Spain. Actually living in Madrid. I got my Fine Art degree in this city in 1999 and have worked as an artist, designer and teacher since then. I have also lived in Edinburgh, Scotland (2000-2001), where I studied modern and traditional techniques of printmaking in Edinburgh Printmakers Workshop.
